Moonlit Mountains

I guess I was just in a painting kind of mood this weekend. I did 4 different paintings and most will be Christmas presents.

I hope everyone likes them. I was telling my mom about painting and she asked me if it was paint by number so that just makes me giggle every time I look at one of them now. Posted by Picasa

Nortern Lights

This is one that I did using black Gesso for the canvas to start with and had a totally different picture in mind when I started but as I got going this is what came out. Posted by Picasa

Painting for Charles

This is the painting that I did for my Father-in-law and it is so much prettier in person than this can even begin to show. Posted by Picasa

fall bouquet

I'm really happy with this creation. I just love how bright and cheery these sunflowers look especially on a dreary day. I can look at this every day when I come in and it's just happy. Posted by Picasa

Mom's bouquet

I was thinking that I would really like to send my mom some flowers. Well, I liked these sunflowers so well, that I wanted to share them with her, I made an arrangement for my door at work so I could look at them every day and I have an arrangement on my entertainment center now as well. The sunflowers are the prettiest yellow and are so delightful to look at. I will be mailing these to her tomorrow and I thought this was a nice way of sharing plus they would last a bit longer than real flowers and it was something I created for her from the heart. Posted by Picasa

Happy Sunflowers

The flowers at the base of this are just positioned there. I really liked the sunflowers because they are the prettiest yellow and so happy looking. I made my mom an arrangement which will be coming up next. Posted by Picasa

Fall decorations

This was a glass arrangement that I made while working at Michaels. They put it on clearance for $11 and the glass alone was worth $18.99 so I couldn't resist, and bought it for myself because I liked the way it came out so well. Posted by Picasa

The door

This is the dog door. Baby gates use to work when we had great danes, must be they were much more compliant than Black Labs. I found the need to finally put a door on my kitchen to keep the dogs out, instead of messing with baby gates they can jump over and chew up. I will put this pic up again, after I get it painted.

I took a full sized door, cut it mostly in half and put it on so it's a half door to my kitchen. Posted by Picasa

The hallway

OK, there really was a method to my madness, and as you can see the lighter tiles are in the center and the darker tiles are mostly on the outer edges. I'm not entirely finished but it has only taken one week or so and if I didn't get working on it, it would have taken longer.

I'm very visual as I think my younger, brother, Edward is and I talked with him and my boss, John Fellerath, because both are very crafty when it comes to things like this. Dr. Fellerath, gave me a math lesson in square footage, which really helped a lot and Eddie helped give me some pointers on the tiles and laying them out, and he was so right when he said that walls are not plum and neither are tiles. The tiles in the kitchen were much more challenging than the tiles in the hallway, but the tiles in the kitchen were .60 cents cheaper. You do get what you pay for and I'm definitely not a professional when it comes to this but I'm happy with the way it came out and think I didn't do a half bad job for a girl. :- ) Posted by Picasa

kitchen floor

Since I was working on the hallway, I decided to do the kitchen as well and so this is it. Julia, my daughter, picked out this flooring and it looks nice with the hallway floor. Posted by Picasa

New Flooring

Ok, this is new flooring that I wanted to show several people and instead of filling up their emails with photos, they can come here and see my productivity.
I pulled up the capeting in my hallway and put this tiling down, but instead of putting it down square (kind of boring) I put it down diagonal, which took more tiles and more time and effort but I think it looks nice and I like the way it came out.

Summer Cabin

This is a smaller painting that I did for one of Stephen's friends, named Gary. It did come out quite pretty, but if you could see the mountains here in Alaska during the summer, you would understand where the inspiration comes from. Posted by Picasa

Summer mountains

Ok this is another one of my paintings, I was practicing. If you see anything you like and would like to purchase one, let me know.

Exotic Sunset

This is one of my paintings. I actually painted this for a friend of Julia's so this is now in the possession of Alex Woods. I told her if I ever got famous, this could be worth monney some day. Posted by Picasa
